Currently, the deepest is 5000 meters. At 4500 meter-deep, a 73-mm-diameter camera with special casing can operate at 130 °C. Lab tests indicate that a camera with double protection casing and a diameter of 73 mm could operate at 7000 meters and 170°C. To go deeper, the diameter of the borehole must allow a larger camera that can resist higher pressure and temperature.
